Review: Spencer by Kerry Heavens

#WouldBuyThisBookOnCoverAlone
@TheSpencerRyan exudes confidence,
I mean have you seen him???
His dark good looks and tattooed muscled perfection are too much.
He’s hot. Lickably hot.
And he has a way with words that leaves me breathless.
But cocky doesn’t even cover it,
This guy is so arrogant you have to fight back.
But God he’s so lickable!
The thing is though,
He looks like sex, but he’ll taste more like jackass.

@OMGJazzyP is a sexy, annoying ball of rage in fuck-me heels
And she hates me.
Although her nipples would tend to disagree.
It’s a deadly combination.
She’s a princess
and when I say Princess, I mean intolerable, spoiled brat with a tiara.
Sure she’s got that curvaceous goddess thing going on,
But that mouth of hers…
God it needs something to shut it up.
#GotJustTheThingRightHere

This is not your average British romance.
It’s a tale of high heels, hot tattooed bad bots and
sex oranges, all wrapped up in a coating of chocolate.
It’s ‘love’ in a social media world,
where everyone is not who they seem
and where some people’s bios should carry a warning.

Review:
There are so many types of romance genres out there, but I think that Kerry Heavens just took the genre of social media romance to a whole new level with Spencer!

Spencer is the king of twitter, just ask him or one of his many female followers. Hot tweets, non-stop selfies, just follow @TheSpencerRyan  and you will never see Twitter the same way again.. I won’t that is for sure!  Where is my ice water and a fan?

Jazz’s friend Mags stalks the hottie from the supermarket to his work and then with some stealth cyber stalking locates him online, all in good fun a banter begins on twitter between @TheSpencerRyan and @OMGJazzyP. The virtual relationship that builds between the two of them is extremely entertaining and HOT, like the fiery depths of hell hot.

Jazz works for a pervert and after one inappropriate advance too many. She gives him her resignation in a manner that let’s just say he won’t be forgetting any time soon. Heading out of the city to spend a few weeks with her best friend Mags, the last thing she expected was to run into @TheSpencerRyan in real life and for him to be a gigantic douche. How can the man of her Twitter dreams be this man?

They play a back and forth game of insults that eventually lead to a fighting attraction and a physical relationship, but when @TheSpencerRyan discovers that “Parker” is none other than @OMGJazzyP, will this self-declared man whore be tempted to change his ways?

Spencer is such a fun read, it is hot, sexy and so different from the cookie cutter books I feel like I’ve purchased lately. I gave this read 5 Stars, vain hero and all..

PS> I read this book as a part of my Kindle Unlimited subscription. This is a prime example of why I love KU. I just tried a new author risk free and now I have a new author to follow.. and YES I purchased this book after I read it for free because I needed to own Spencer, even if it is just to appreciate the cover whenever I want!

Trailer Reveal: Hard to Let Go by Laura Kaye

I am huge fan of Laura Kaye's Hard Ink series, totally head over heels in love! Check out this trailer for the final book in this series, Hard to Let Go. I have to say I am sad this series is coming to an end, but I am also super excited for the final installment as well!

ABOUT HARD TO LET GO: Beckett Murda hates to dwell on the past. But his investigation into the ambush that killed half of his Special Forces team and ended his Army career gives him little choice. Just when his team learns how powerful their enemies are, hard-ass Beckett encounters his biggest complication yet- a seductive, feisty Katherine Rixey.

A tough, stubborn prosecutor, Kat visits her brothers' Hard Ink Tattoo shop following a bad break up- and finds herself staring down the barrel of a strangers gun. Beckett is hard-bodied and sexy as hell, but he's also the most infuriating man ever. Worse, Kat's brothers are at war with the criminals her office is investigating. When Kat joins the fight, she lands straight in Beckett's sights.. and in his arms. Not to mention their enemies crosshairs.

Now Beckett and Kat must set aside their differences to work together, because the only thing sweeter than justice is finding love and never letting go.

Review & Giveaway: Clipped by Love by Toni Aleo

Things are heating up for the Sinclair boys! With one already in the NHL, Jayden Sinclair is hoping to be next!

This has been the toughest year of my life. I watched my brother go into the draft without me, my mom got divorced, and the weight of my family’s issues is heavy on my shoulders. I feel like it’s my job to fix everything while working my butt off in school and trying to make my game better. I have to go into the draft. It will give my family the support they need, and it will prove that I’m good enough. But to get there, I have to show I can be the best captain for the Bellevue Bullies. The spot is mine—no one can take it. First though, Jude is making me go on a brother’s weekend. Innocent enough, I guess…until I see her. She’s the biggest competitor I’ve ever faced. Not only for my spot but also my heart. It’s hard to ignore someone like Baylor Moore.

***
I don’t lose. I can’t. My dad has bred me to be the best in anything I do. I am driven, I am smart, and I am going to be the first woman in the National Hockey League. No two ways about it. I’ve worked too hard. I’ve been through too much not to have what I want. I know I can do it. I will make my dad proud, and no one will stand in the way of that. That is, until I let him in. He scares me. He makes me feel. And he could very well be the one person who can make me want more than just to win.

We both have the same goal. Victory. But how do you compete against the person you want to win? It’s not easy. Love isn’t something you can control. It isn’t like a puck that can be handled by a stick. No, it has a mind of its own and does what it wants.

Neither of us saw it coming, and we really don’t know if there is a way to score, especially when you’re being Clipped by Love.

Review:
Fans of Toni Aleo will want to dive head first into Clipped by Love, the latest release in her Bellevue Bullies series.

Jayden Sinclair (brother of Jude from Boarded by Love) has his eye set on the prize, that prize being, having an awesome season on the ice for the Bellevue Bullies and to go into the NHL draft post season. This plan didn't include a girlfriend, but to quote the poet Robert Burns, "the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry."

Enter Baylor Moore

Baylor is a great hockey player, make that the best and she will be the first female to play in the NHL, just ask her. She has the skills, the drive and determination to make it happen. She's had her heart broken in the past and she knows she needs to focus on her game, not her love life, but after an unforgettable (and somewhat painful) encounter with Jayden while on break at the beach, she is left feeling rejected and is even more focused on her goal. Her dad is appointed to coach a new team and she finds herself playing on a line with her almost, "fling".

Fireworks erupt, great hockey is played and two people with similar yet different goals find that there may be something better than just playing the game they love, maybe loving someone they play with isn't such a bad thing.

Clipped by Love is a sexy-fun read! If your having Jude withdrawal you will get to spend some time with him and Claire from Boarded by Love and to top it off a guest appearance by my favorite Toni Aleo couple EVER, Elli & Shea from Taking Shots Assassins Series Book #1). Clipped by Love is a great marriage of new adult and sports romance and it is definitely one for my keeper shelf. I can't wait for more form this series.

REVIEW: The Best I Never Had by Loni Flowers

New job, new town, new people— new life.

That’s what Olivia Langston needed. At twenty eight, she was given a rare opportunity at an internship in the rolling valleys of Crystal Falls in California wine country, far away from her small town roots in North Carolina. It was an unexpected journey she desperately needed after her ex-husband crushed her.

At DeVine Winery, she expected a fresh start in a new environment to help let go of her past. Instead, she found Daniel Black and a hell of a lot of sexual tension she wasn’t prepared for. He was gorgeous, modestly wealthy, irresistible, and just happened to be part owner of DeVine, one of the largest vineyards in the country.

If only she knew that before she kissed him her first night in town.

Excerpt:

We stood at the base of a Ferris wheel, third in line as we waited for our turn. I was about to have heart attack. At least I’ll look good when I die. A couple got off the wheel as another got on, putting us second in line. My heart raced remembering the last time I rode one while in college. I had a panic attack once the wheel had finally made it to the top.
“Why did we get all dressed up to come to a carnival? Are you sure we have to do this?” I questioned in panic.
“This is just a pit stop. I want you to see the view from the top.” He kissed the skin at the bend in my neck, sending the two teenage girls behind us in to a swooning fit.
“I can see the view from here just fine.” I huffed.
He chuckled as the couple in front of us boarded the next bucket on the wheel. “Trust me, Olivia. You’ll be fine,” he assured me.
I did trust him, but it didn’t stop my hands from shaking. And I felt dumb getting so worked up over a children’s ride. The next bucket came down, the ride operator lifted the metal bar across the riders’ laps, and they hopped out, exiting to the left. The operator motioned us forward, but I could hardly move. Daniel put his arm around my back, encouraging me forward. Once I was seated, he slipped my shoes from my feet and placed them next to me on the seat before whispering something to the ride operator. After he took his seat, the operator lowered the lap bar and walked towards the control panel. My anxiety kicked into gear. The bucket jolted forward and I gripped the bar, squeezing it as if my life depended on it. I gasped and squeezed my eyes shut.
“I don’t even know why there’s a bar here. Anyone could slip out underneath it. This can’t be safe at all.”
“Olivia, open your eyes.”
I shook my head lightly, scared that any movement would make us fall out and drop to our death. “Just tell me when it’s over,” I whispered.
His palm brushed over my bare shoulders in an attempt to soothe me when the bottom of our bucket shifted forward, causing the back to tip backwards. “Oh my God, stop moving. We’re going to fall. Please don’t move anymore.” I was on the verge of tears and frozen like stone. His palm pressed against my cheek and pulled my face in his direction.
“Open your eyes, baby. Just focus on me.”
I did as he asked, cracking my lids open and searching for the blue of his eyes. “I’m sorry. I want to enjoy this, I really do. But…”
“Have you always been afraid of heights?”
“Yes. It’s one of the reasons I drove to California.”
“I see.” He gazed out at our surroundings. “We are about to go around again until the operators get everyone off except us. He’s going to let us stay at the top for a while unless you want to get off now.”
“He’s going to let you do that?”
“Money talks just about anywhere. Can you handle thirty more minutes with me up there?”
“I’ll do my best. Talk to me. Keep me occupied. Just don’t move too much. Please.” I squeezed my eyes tight and leaned into his shoulder as we made another full rotation. It wasn’t so bad if we were steadily moving, but the stopping and starting and the swaying of the bucket was ripping my nerves apart. Despite the romantic situation Daniel had created, I was too scared to accept the moment for what it was.
“We’ve stopped, and we’ll be here for a while. Can you open your eyes now?”
I cracked them open, lifting my head slightly to peek out in front of me. There was nothing except the ocean and the great open sky coated in an array of bright oranges and pinks as the sun prepared to slip into the ocean for the night. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves and relax my tense body.
“It really is beautiful up here.” I marveled at the scenery. I peered in the opposite direction and could see the entire amusement park and the wooden boardwalk that stretched along the beach.
“Normally, I would agree.” Daniel slipped his fingers up the side of my neck, encouraging me to face him. “But I swear, nothing is more beautiful than you.”
“You’ll have to forgive me if I disagree.”

“You can disagree all you like; it won’t sway my opinion.”

Review:
The Best I Never Had is a sweet contemporary romance about moving on and up after heartbreak. Olivia Langston's ex-husband destroyed her faith in men and marriage, but she didn't let the break up of her marriage destroy her. She worked hard to finish her degree and this internship is the last item that she needs to succeed. Her first night in town results in a chance meeting and a shared kiss with a handsome stranger.... only she discovers that the "stranger" is now her boss.

Daniel Black knows from the minute he sees Olivia that he needs to get to know her better. Olivia wants to keep things strictly professional. She needs this internship and her past has taught her to keep men at arms length. Olivia didn't count on Daniel's persistence and an undeniable sexual attraction. Things quickly heat up, but tension in the office around Daniel's ex, causes trouble and Olivia questions if she is willing to risk her heart again...

I gave The Best I Never Had 5 STARS, it contains everything I love in a romance. I wanted Olivia and Daniel together from the first kiss, and as twists and turns found their way into the story, I found myself speed reading with my fingers crossed that things would turn out the way I hoped. Daniel is a swoon worthy romantic hero and I think that readers will find themselves adding him to their list of most romantic book boyfriends I certainly did. I loved this book to the last page. I am also excited for what is next, the author does a beautiful job of setting the stage for Garrett's (Daniel's brother) story. I  can't wait to see what becomes of him and Hannah. If you are looking for a good contemporary read with a little unpredictability and a perfect HEA I recommend you check out The Best I Never Had by Lori Flowers.
