5 Stars for About A Vampire by Lynsay Sands!

In New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands' new Argeneau novel, a vampire accustomed to seducing every woman he meets finds the one determined to resist him...

With immortal good looks and scorching charisma, Justin Bricker has yet to meet a woman he can't win over. His potential life mate should be no different. But instead of falling into his bed, Holly Bosley runs away and ends up mortally wounded. To save her, he has to turn her. And then Bricker learns the shocking truth: Holly's already married.

Holly wakes up with a bump on her head, a craving for blood, and a sexy stranger who insists they belong together. She needs Bricker's help to control her new abilities, even as she tries to resist his relentless seduction.
Choosing between the world she knows and the eternity he offers is impossible. But Justin is fighting for his life mate- maybe even his life- and he'll break every rule to do it.

Review:
Justin Bricker is an immortal enforcer and one night his life mate literally and figuratively stumbles and falls right at his feet, onto a pair of scissors. He is forced to turn her into an immortal to save her. Quickly he discovers his life mate is already married to a human. The immortal laws prohibit him from telling her too much or using any persuasion to try to gain her affection. Any feelings she may have for him must be her own without his influence. Since Justin is responsible for her change, he is also responsible for teaching her how to live amongst humans as an immortal. He has a short amount of time to teach her and for her to realize that he is her destiny, her life mate.

Holly wakes from her fall to discover the change. She isn't quite sure what to make of the handsome lunatic. She quickly realizes that what he is telling her is true and that she is an immortal. Holly just wants to learn how to live with her new reality and then get back to her normal life with her husband. Although the more time she spends with Justin, the harder it is to fight this new attraction. Justin & Holly have a lot of things going against them, the biggest is the fact that she is married to human. Justin's fellow enforcers also think this is the perfect time to pull the ultimate prank on Justin and hilarity ensues. Just when I thought I had the story all figured out Lynsay Sands  throws a curve ball and Justin & Holly's happily ever after is even more perfect than I expected. Justin & Holly's Story gets 5 STARS from this reader!

About a Vampire is Book #22 in author Lynsay Sands, Argeneau Series. These books can be read in order, but can also stand alone. As a fan of the series, I recommend you read them all in order. The relationships that develop are even more special, as characters from previous books reappear to play small parts in each new story. This series is one of my favorites of all time, The Argeneau Series is a must read for any paranormal romance fan!

Guest Post, Review & Giveaway: Rescued by the Ranger by Dixie Lee Brown

Protecting those in trouble is what Army Ranger Garrett Harding does best. But after helping a feisty redhead toss a couple of losers from her Idaho bar, the woman is anything but grateful for his assistance—in fact, she seems to know him. Worse, she almost certainly hates him.

The only thing Rachel Maguire wants is to send this smart-mouthed, muscled military man packing. She knows Garrett has his own reasons for staying, so when he offers Rachel a deal—two days to prove his worth or he leaves—she reluctantly agrees. Despite wanting to loathe him, Rachel finds herself drawn to his quiet confidence…and the way he fills out a t-shirt.

But when Rachel receives a phone call from the past, everything changes. The stalker who destroyed her life ten years ago is closing in once more. Refusing to put anyone else in harm's way, Rachel hits the road hoping to lure danger away from those she loves. But Garrett won't leave this sexy spitfire to face her stalker alone. He'll do anything to protect her. Even if it means risking his life—and his heart.

Review:
I am totally dating myself with this acknowledgement, but I think that the 80's song I Need a Hero by Bonnie Tyler would make the perfect theme song for Rescued by the Ranger. Rachel Maguire doesn't want to admit she needs a hero, but like it or not she has found hers in Garrett Harding. This sexy Army Ranger will not let her out of his sight once he realizes that she is in danger.

Rachel feels that she has exposed enough people to her problems in the past with dire consequences. She refuses to allow Garrett to risk his life for her (this is the part in the story where I wanted to thump her in the forehead and say he is a Ranger for goodness sakes- he's got this..). As the situation gets more intense will she allow him to rescue her?

I was quickly swept away by this story. The plot builds very quickly with the prefect amount of drama and suspense. If you like a romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat this one certainly did that for me. The budding romance between Garrett and Rachel is paced well. Once Rachel finally realizes and accepts that he is going to protect and love her, I wanted to give her a high-five and say it's about time sister! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED Cowboy, Garrett's dog. He was our secondary hero in this story and stole my heart right alongside his master.

I gave this book 4.5 Stars! Rescued by the Ranger is a heartwarming read with just the right amount of suspense to satisfy the appetite of the contemporary romance fan.

NEW RELEASE & GIVEAWAY: My Kind of Forever
The Beaumont Series #5 by Heidi McLaughlin

Liam Page knows music and a life of solitude, but that all changed when he returned to Beaumont. The once notorious bad boy lead singer of 4225 West is now living the domesticated life with his wife and high school sweetheart, Josie, and their son Noah. Life is good for the Westbury family.

Josie Westbury loves everything about her life. She's happily married. She has a successful business and a son who keeps her active. The only thing she longs for is another child.

Torn between his love for music and his love for his family, Liam finds he's needed back in Los Angeles and the place where it all began. Josie is apprehensive, but knows this is what's best for Liam and the bands career; however, it doesn't take long for her biggest fears to start coming true.

Liam and Josie's story continues in this last installment of The Beaumont Series.

EXCERPT:

The way the mirror on my dressing table is angled gives me the perfect opportunity to watch Liam undress. This is my favorite ritual, morning and night. I'll take the chance anytime I can to watch him methodically peel off his clothes. He's a man who unties his shoes first, placing them on the back of the shoe rack. His socks are next, followed by his shirt. My peeping tom ways are often rewarded when he's wearing a dress shirt. Not only do I get to watch the muscles in his back flex as he pushes each button through the ridiculously small hole, but his undressing is prolonged. He takes his t-shirt off the same way every time and when he pulls the collar from behind and the shirt slowly lifts inch by inch, my mouth waters. My lips become dry and my knuckles ache from my hand clutching my hairbrush. The clank of his belt buckle and the almost too silent pop of the fabric from his button down jeans have me staring intently into the mirror. My make-up is only half off, my mouth wide open and I'm the picture of someone who needs serious help. And let's not get started on the way he gets dressed...

He knows I watch him. This is a game to him. He could sleep in or stay up late, but he doesn't. Liam gets up with me in the morning and goes to bed when I do at night and I'm starting to think his intention is to have me committed. I may or may not have a drooling issue when it comes to staring at my husband. You'd think after watching him grow up I'd be used to his body, but the truth of the matter is, he didn't fully grow until he left Beaumont. I missed the transformation from teenage boy to man. Sometimes I think I'm happy that I did, but other times, I think about all the other women out there that have experienced his transformation. I hate them all. I'm jealous of them and I don't know why. I have him now. He chose me.

His jeans drop to the ground and he kicks them aside, depriving me of the chance to watch him bend over to pick them up. I find myself leaning into my vanity to get a better look as his thumbs dip into the waistband of his boxer briefs. Men find women's lingerie sexy and appealing. It turns them on. The look and feel teases them and they love it. I never thought about men and their underwear until I saw Liam in his. Over the years he's maintained his muscles, yet has a more defined physique. his boxers aren't sagging in places they shouldn't'. My husband could be an underwear model with his form fitting briefs, although I don't know if I 'd want the world to see what he only shares with me. The cotton fabric pools at his feet. He steps out of them and turns around, showing me his naked body... a body only for my eyes, my hands, my lips and any part of me.

"How long are you going to stare at me?"

I swallow hard as my eyes flash to his and a wicked grin plays across my lips.

"Until my eyes no longer work," I tell him. "Or until you tell me to stop."

"Hmm, that'll be never," he says as he walks near me.

Review: Delayed Penalty: A Pilots Hockey Novel by Sophia Henry

She closed her heart long ago. He just wants to open her mind. For fans of Toni Aleo and Sawyer Bennett, the debut of Sophia Henry's red-hot Detroit Pilots series introduces a hockey team full of complicated men who fight for love.

Auden Berezin is used to losing people: her father, her mother, her first love. Now, just when she believes those childhood wounds are finally healing, she loses something else: the soccer scholarship that was her ticket to college. Scrambling to earn tuition money, she is relieved to find a gig translating for a Russian minor-league hockey player- until she realizes that he's the same dangerously sexy jerk who propositioned her at the bar the night before.

Equal parts muscle and scar tissue, Aleksandr Varenkov knows about trauma. Maybe that's what draws him to Auden. He also lost his family too young, and he channeled the pain into his passions: first hockey, then vodka and women. But all that seems to just melt away the instant he kisses Auden and feels a jolt of desire as sudden and surprising as a hard check on the ice.

After everything she's been through, Auden can't bring herself to trust any man, let alone a hot-headed puck jockey with a bad reputation. Aleksandr just hopes she'll give him a chance- long enough to prove he's finally met the one that makes him want to change.

Review:
Fans of hockey romance, or just good romance in general will fall in love with Delayed Penalty the debut novel by Sophia Henry. I quickly found myself swept into the world of Pilots hockey and   Aleksandr and Auden. The relationship between these two starts as a mutual attraction, but quickly grows into much, much more. Our hero and heroine have many things in their past that haunt them, and those things have kept them each from moving forward in one way or the other. As the pair come together they begin to heal each other and the story quickly builds into a steamy romance.

The author does a great job of developing her characters and also developing the supporting characters. I loved the Russian banter and cultural aspects that are introduced. It gave the story a special flare that was unique and felt fresh. Our hero and heroine have so much in common, they were a perfect pairing. Auden deals so well with Aleksandr's antics! I smiled a lot, laughed some and even shed a few tears.

I love discovering new authors and Sophia Henry has earned her spot on my list of authors to watch. If Delayed Penalty is any indication the Pilot's Hockey series will be AMAZING. I gave Delayed Penalty 5 STARS and have added it to my favorites and sports romance shelves on Goodreads
