Stealing Home by Jennifer Seasons
Review & Giveaway

In my house nothings says Spring like the start of Baseball season. My two year old is already an Avid Yankee's fan, his baseball cap is part of his daily wardrobe. I like to watch baseball on TV occasionally,  but I would much rather be sitting in the stands at Yankee Stadium reading on my Kindle while my family enjoys the game.

This past week we (as in my husband) purchased the MLB package for cable, so for the next 26 weeks or so the TV's in my house will be tuned to whatever game is of interest that week.  This past weekend, we all gathered around the TV, the kiddos wearing their caps and jerseys and me curled on the couch with my Kindle and I became a fan of a new baseball team..

Blurb:

Love may be just a game, but the baseball players in Jennifer Seasons' sexy diamonds and dugouts series— they're playing for keeps!
Mark Cutter has it all: a lucrative baseball career, fast cars, and faster women—and all thanks to his priceless good luck charm. At least, that's what he thinks before Lorelei Littleton shows up. Next thing he knows, he's waking up alone, the sexy brunette has vanished, and his good luck charm is gone. More than a little curious about the wicked-hot cat burglar and determined to get his property back, Mark's going to track down the thief and make her pay—big time.
Maybe Lorelei feels a tiny bit guilty for stealing Mark's good luck charm, but when it's worth $100,000 and the money could save her niece's life? She's not losing sleep over it . . . but him? Lorelei can't get the ballplayer with the bad attitude out of her head. And now he's come after her with more than just revenge in his eyes. Lorelei has a choice: turn over the charm and lose the money, or keep it and risk losing everything . . . including her heart.
Stealing Home is the debut novel for Jennifer Seasons and is the first book in her Diamonds and Dugouts series. I started reading this book and the next thing I knew it was two hours later and time for me to get up and make dinner for the family and I considered ordering pizza.
Mark comes across in the beginning as your typical arrogant narcissistic playboy, but the more you get to know him, the more you see it is just a front. Lorelei is used to losing people close to her, so her way to protect her heart is to keep people away. They both spend a lot of time trying not to let anyone in on their "secrets". The two could have communicated better, BUT, their lack of communication made for great emotional scenes and kept me turning the pages.
There are so many characters in this book that I can't wait to read more about. Lorelei's widowed brother, taking care of a sick daughter.. Mark's sister and her current boyfriend.. The young rookie.. I will be purchasing any books released in this series and have already pre-ordered the 2nd book, Playing the Field, currently set to be released in July.
If you are a sports romance junkie like me, you will love this book, but that being said you don't have to love sports to love a good story and this certainly fits the bill. This book is a 5 Star HOMERUN in my opinion!
The Kindle version of this book is a STEAL right now for only .99 at Amazon.com, and the Nook version is $1.99. Both Amazon and BN.com have the Mass Market Paperback for only $4.27! Great price for a great summer read.

  2. My favorite spring activity...I guess besides reading it would be outdoor stuff. Like gardening and sitting outside to enjoy the nice weather.
I'm not a big sports fan but I do enjoy being at a baseball game. You get caught up in all the excitement around you.

  3. My favorite spring activity? I don't really have 1 favorite. The common theme is to just get outdoors and enjoy the weather. I live in South Texas, so our spring is very short. Won't be long until we're in the 100*s and trapped in the house with the AC running.

  4. I like watching the birds when they come to the feeder. And I love to hear them sing.

    This book sounds good!
