Hockey Romance Authors Team Up to Fight Cancer!

Cancer is an ugly word in my house. I lost my mother to cancer when I was a teenager, my godmother who raised me is currently winning her battle with breast cancer and we lost my amazing father-in-law last Fall to leukemia. This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. I was so happy when I found out out that some of my favorite hockey romance authors had teamed up to release an anthology, Seduced by the Game, a collection of hockey novellas with all proceeds going to Hockey Fights Cancer.

Blurb:
It's time to drop the gloves and fight! Support the fight against cancer that is. This anthology of 8 brand new novellas is hot enough to melt the ice these players skate on. Featuring stories from popular New York Times & USA Today, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble best selling authors, including Toni Aleo, Cassandra Carr, Cindy Carr, Jami Davenport, Catherine Gayle, Jaymee Jacobs, V.L. Locey, Bianca Sommerland, and Nikki Worrell.

Toni Aleo- TANGLED IN LACES:
In Tangled in Laces, Karson King is on the fast track to the pros and Lacey Martin is coming back from a hard fight against cancer and is terrified of him, but their love is too much to ignore. Will Karson prove that he will protect her heart at all costs, or will he live Lacey to pick up the pieces of her life once again?
Review: This prequel has me setting up a count down ticker to 2015, it is hot, full of love, drama and just the right amount of angst to catch me.. hook, line and sinker! After this teaser I am so excited that these two are getting their own full length book and can't wait! Toni Aleo has never disappointed me with any of her books and I don't think this will be the exception! Write faster Toni! :)

Cassandra Carr & Cindy Carr- HOOKING HANNAH:
When Hannah attends an all-star game, she doesn't expect a hockey player of all people to turn her wold upside down. Her sister is married to a player and Hannah never wanted that life. But Scott could change everything. For Scott's part, he has to know the woman who stirred his blood with just a look, and once he does, he realizes he wants Hannah to be his forever. Now to convince her…
Review: This was my first taste of Cassandra Carr & Cindy Carr's writing and it certainly won't be my last! I loved the story, it came together beautifully, and holy crap was it HOT! I can't wait for more from these authors and love the HEA they gave me in the small amount of space they had available!

Jami Davenport- CRASHING THE BOARDS (Seattle Sockeyes 1.5)
Professional party crasher, Izzy Maxwell, needs the cooperation of reluctant party guess Cooper Black, the team captain of Seattle's new hockey team, but Cooper can't get past his anger over the teams relocation to Seattle. Can Izzy melt Cooper's frozen heart or will this party crash along with her fledgling business?
Review: Jami Davenport NEVER disappoints! Crashing the Boards is a whirlwind romance, full of steam. I loved Cooper and Izzy and the HEA I felt like I got at the end of the novella… THEN Jami surprised me by announcing that this is just a teaser that Cooper and Izzy are getting a full length book, I can't wait- it is sure to be just as fabulous as this prequel!

Catherine Gayle- Taking a Shot (Portland Storm 2.5)
Katie Weber has had a crush on Jamie Babcock for almost two years, since he joined her fathers hockey team, the Portland Storm as an eighteen-year old rookie. When cancer takes her health, her hair, and even her friends, she can't bear to go to senior prom… until Jamie intervenes.
Review: First off, let me start by saying if you are a fan of hockey romance and aren't reading Catherine Gayle's Portland Storm series, STOP reading right now and pick up the first two books in this series. This author has a way of writing hockey romance that fans of the game and the genre will love. Now, back to this story. I have loved Katie and Jamie's budding attraction in the first two books of this series and had even emailed this author asking WHEN they are getting their story. They are slowly growing up before our very eyes and this book is perfect. Jamie has a crush on Katie from afar (mainly because her father, and his teammate, will have him sleeping with the fishes if he gets too close to his daughter). Katie is battling cancer and when Jamie risks life and limb (reference the previous sentence) and asks to take her to her senior prom it gives her the motivation she needs to keep fighting. This is a sweet story that left me with tears in my eyes and super excited to know that eventually they will get their own book and it is going to be WONDERFUL!

Jaymee Jacobs- A Valuable Trade
Bryan's life gets turned upside down when he gets traded to the Dallas Comets, and things get even messier when he meets Georgiana the Director of Team Services. He's got a lot of work to do to prove his worth to his new team, but Georgian's sure he'll prove to be a valuable trade.
Review: I love a story where a girl who is "one of the guys" finds love. This is no exception, this was my first Jaymee Jacobs read and I look forward to reading more about the Dallas Comets.

V.L. Locey- Heir Apparent
Superstar Cam Evans is fighting to climb out of a slump that's growing worse with each day of living in denial. Fresh from the minors, Jacobi Neal is hungry for this chance to play back-up for the legendary goalie. Can two men battle each other, their inner demons, and the sizzling attraction building between them.
Review: I am not normally drawn to m/m stories, but this novella gave me a taste of what I have been missing and I was hooked. These two men are not only fighting for their careers, but are also fighting for love, this is a hot, tension filled ride that left me wanting more from this author!

Bianca Sommerland- Blind Pass (The Dartmouth Cobras 0.5)
Nothing could stop Tim Rowe, the assistant coach of the Dartmouth Cobras, from falling in love with Madeline, but love alone can't satisfy every need. Sometimes, to reach the goal, you have to take a chance with a… Blind Pass.
Review:  How is their a hockey romance series out that I haven't read? I am so excited this anthology put Bianca Sommerland on my radar and after reading this prequel to her Dartmouth Cobra series,  I MUST find all the books out so far and read them.. Geesh, and I call myself a fan of hockey romance. I am buckled in if this prequel is any indication of this series I am about to go for one fun, hot ride!

Nikki Worrell- Captain, My Captain (Prequel to Scorpions Series)
Keith Lambert is captain of the Flyers- until he's not. To every one's shock, he's traded to the San Diego Scorpions. As if that's not bad enough, Phoebe his girlfriend of two years, decides she doesn't love him enough to follow.

All alone in a new town, Keith is drawn to Kelly, his take out delivery girl. When she shows up at ice girl tryouts he's lost. She's all he can see. Can he convince her to forget her past and take a chance on him or is he destined to be alone in a new town a little bit longer?
Review: Nikki Worrell is one of my favorite hockey romance authors and I loved this prequel to a series I am already in love with! If you are a fan of hockey romance you need to be reading Nikki Worrell and this teaser gives a good peek into her writing style, get out your debit card, you will want to purchase the Scorpion books to date (if you haven't already) after reading Captain, My Captain!

If you can't tell from my reviews above, not only is purchasing this book supporting a great cause, but you are also getting a HUGE return on your investment. I enjoy charitable giving, but I think Seduced by the Game is the book that immediately gave me something back, with a collection of hockey novellas that are sure to make any reader of this genre happy.
