We were introduced to the legend, Sir Griffin Barry, cousin
of the hero in Eloisa James latest release, The Ugly Duchess.
Sir Griffin Barry left his bride on the night of their
wedding and never consummated the marriage; he was kidnapped on a pirate ship that he eventually took over and became Captain. He returns 14 years later looking for his
Bride only to discover that Poppy (Phoebe) now has three children and has no
desire to be married.
Once Poppy sets eyes on her estranged husband sparks fly and
before long one thing leads to another and a fire definitely ignites!
This is a lovely quick read, it's funny and romantic and is
very much worth the bargain price of .99! I bought this, read it and also gifted it to a
friend that loves a good quick read, she
immediately responded with a prompt Thank You, saying it made her day, she read it yesterday morning on
her Nook while waiting in the lovely post Sandy NYC commute traffic.

Eloisa James draws a laugh out of me in most of her books. I just love her work. That's just too faint of praise but as I repeat, I'm a reader not a writer. I recommend her complete booklist. Start with Kiss Me, Annabel and continue, you'll find out Much Ado About You and a very fine author.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this contest! Much appreciated.

Nice blog,
BUT the 'prove yourself a robot' thing is horrible- have entered at least 10 times what I can read- it says I'm wrong everytime even when the letters are obvious- tried listening to the numbers and they are so jumbled it's impossible to tell what they are! frustrated but keeping trying because I want the book! ^_^
I buy every new Eloisa James book, but a free one would be nice.

It was great fun to read The Ugly Duchess. Reading a shorter story about James' cousin should be fun (especially with their side bet who would get their wife into bed first). An Eloisa James fan, Martha

Great blog and great contest....Love Eloisa James books, she can't write fast enough. dlfuller54@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI simply don't have enough patience to wait for her new books to come out once I have finished reading the new releases..we need to clone the talented Ms. James for her writing prowess.
ReplyDeleteI read both the Ugly Duchess and Seduced by a Pirate. Both were great, but I really preferred Seduced by a Pirate. I wasn't a big fan of James -- too much of a spoiled baby, unintentionally cruel to his very sweet best friend, although Daisy/Theo was loveable -- strong and determined -- a great heroine. Pirate Griffin, though was thoroughly likeable and unintentionally funny -- really, Poppy? He didn't even know his wife's name. Phoebe was his perfect mate. The ending was lovely. An Eloisa James book is always a winner.
ReplyDeleteI can't save my money for books because I'm busy spending my money on books! Love Eloisa's books and would love to win this one as I haven't goten to read it yet. Twitter name @mlb82fan.
