Review: Becoming the Whiskey Princess by Toni Aleo

For better or worse, for richer or poorer, 'til almost death do they part...

Amberlyn Riley took a risk and found a new life in Ireland. She did something drastic and jumped in front of a loaded gun for the one she knew she couldn't lose. And with her mother's last request, she did more than fall in love. She fell into Declan O'Callaghan- with her eyes wide open damaged heart and soul leading the way.

When Irish-born Declan O'Callaghan spotted Amberlyn across the lake, he knew his life was about to change. And it did. Now he has everything he's ever dreamed of- he's marrying for love, and with that love, the family distillery will now be his as long as he marries before the deadline.

Things are moving fast. It's now or never. And as their beautiful relationship grows, time is something these two don't have a lot of. Declan's and Amberlyn's souls are tightly tethered, but will the questions and second thoughts of others prevent them from having the life they've both only begun to dream of? Will family and the obligations that come with the O'Callaghan name push them to their breaking point? Or has the Whiskey Prince truly found his happily ever after taking Amberlyn as his Princess?

Review:
First of all, if you haven't read The Whiskey Prince by Toni Aleo, STOP what you are doing and get it now. You MUST read The Whiskey Prince before reading Becoming the Whiskey Princess and not just because it is the start to Declan & Amberlyn's story, but because it is an amazing read (and at the time of this review is on-sale for the steal price of .99). The Whiskey Prince was everything I love about the first book in a series. It didn't end in a tension filled cliffhanger, the plot reaches a peak, the couple gets the start to their happily-ever-after, but the door is left open for their relationship to grow and their story to expand. I have been looking forward to reading The Whiskey Princess for months and was so excited when I got a copy of this book in my hands!

Welcome back to the story. Amberlyn followed her mother's last wishes. She has found love and a new life in Ireland, but becoming Mrs. Declan O'Callaghan may just be the most complicated obstacle she has faced to date. Their relationship is moving fast, there are deadlines to meet and they have a great start. Declan and Amberlyn love each other with all they have, but a relationship takes a lot of work especially a relationship that is scrutinized under the eyes of others. Amberlyn loves Declan, but in order to be the bride his family expects for the O'Callaghan name will she be able to stay true to herself in the process?

Amberlyn & Declan's love story felt real to me. The challenges they face as they take their relationship to the next level is believable. I loved the continuation of this story, the ups, the downs and above all the feeling that true love is attainable! I gave Becoming the Whiskey Princess 5 STARS and recommend this to any reader who loves an emotional story that will make you laugh, cry and dreamily sigh.
