CAGE by Harper Sloan,
My 5 Star Review!

Blurb:
***Warning*** This book is intended for mature reading!

Greg Cage was born to protect. While growing up, he was his other and sister's shield against the world... until he failed. For the last decade, he has carried that guilt and need for vengeance around.. until it was stripped from him. Now, with his best friend getting married and no longer needing his protection, he is even more lost, completely adrift, and desperate for some control. All he has ever known was how to protect: his family, his friends, and his country. Can he go against everything he has ever known, and give up that control?

Melissa Larson will never let anyone hold the reins in her life. She has been the rock in her family for more years than she can remember, and the fight to keep them together is her main priority right now. She has always been fiercely independent and proud. The last thing she will ever do is ask for someone else's help. But when that choice is out of her control, forcing her to rely on others to save her and her family, and pick up the pieces that are left, will she be able to let someone else be her strength?

The second Greg locks eyes with Meli, he knows she is someone he needs. Someone he craves. Meli knew the second she met Greg that he would be nothing but trouble and heartache. Her life takes an unexpected turn, and that bitch Fate is back to wreak more havoc on another member of the Corps family.

All hell breaks loose, leaving Greg, no choices but to call in a favor. He hooks back up with his old friend Braxxon Breaker from Breakneck MC. Together they make sure nothing ever threatens anyone Greg loves again.

Review:

I knew I was going to love this story long before I ever one-clicked the buy-now button! I LOVED Axel the first book in Harper Sloan's Corps Security series and was already a little bit in love with Greg. He is large, gorgeous... and pierced (trust me after reading this you will want to know more about piercing- I may or may not have googled more details, so that this sheltered mom could get a better visual.. *blushing.. shh!).

Harper Sloan has a gift for creating alpha male characters that will make you toes curl and have you swooning before you finish reading his full description. Greg Cage is not just another pretty package, he is also an amazing man hiding under a rough exterior and a protective shield. Greg and Meli's first interactions would have possibly set my book pages on fire, had I not been reading on my Kindle. Greg's nickname for Meli is "Beauty".. and every time he called her that in this book my heart did a little flutter in my chest. They are hot, they need each other and they have a backstory that ties them together in ways that could also rip them apart.

My favorite quote from CAGE:
"I can't make you promises, Beauty. I can't sit here and tell you that I'm worth letting those walls down for, buy I can tell you that if the way I feel for you right now keeps growing, there isn't an army strong enough to pull me out."

This book contains lots of drama, HOT sex and plenty of alpha male goodness, all things that quickly earned it a spot on my shelf of books I really LOVED. There are more Corps security guys that I can't wait to get to know, up next is Beck.. and I am counting down the days to Locke.. Maddox has the potential to by my favorite of all the guys.

I am stalking this series and this author. Harper Sloan has earned a place on my auto-buy list! I give his book 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend you adding it you your TBR list. This series is made up of stand alone books, but I do recommend reading them in order. In Axel you meet most of the guys, you get to know them better in Cage and I have a feeling by the time Beck gets here I will feel like I am attending a family reunion.

PS> Be sure you check out the awesome playlist that Author Harper Sloan lists in the front of the book. It is so great to pair the songs with scenes as you are reading the book!

I bought this book because I fell in love with this series after reading the first book. I was in no way shape or form compensated for this review. Any opinions expressed here are my own.

Until next time.... Happy Reading!
